Photo 101: Triumph

tea

How very British of me…. to celebrate my triumphant completion of the Photo 101 course with a nice cup of tea and a choccy biscuit (or two!)

But the triumphant part comes from the fact that not only did I complete each assignment with a new photograph AND I completed it on the day it was asked for (last year I was sooo at the coo’s tail with this course) but today I have the lugry. My son was home from college this past weekend with a sore throat, chest and the sneezes and as of yesterday I also have a sore throat, chest and the sneezes. But I triumphantly soldiered on, feeling very pathetic and sorry for myself (I feel so bad I actually only ate ONE of the biscuits believe it or not! AND THEY WERE REAL CADBURY’S)

Well at least it’s not Man-Flu.

Photo 101: Scale and observation

Easter egg
“Do you think it’s big enough for both of us?”

Well I observe that the scale of this creme egg is perfect! Just imagine if you did get a chocolate egg that size…. yummmeeeeee!

As an aside, my kids are now 18 and 21 years old and I’ve moved not only houses but continents since they were wee and I thought I’d gotten rid of all their old toys, but I can STILL put my hands on Lego men…. I’m pretty sure they have a secret life.

Photo 101: Bliss

Ahhh, what sounds blissful right about now…. how about a hammock, a good book, a cool drink and a beach? Well much as I’d love to fly off to a beachey somewhere, all for the sake of keeping it authentic for Photo 101….. unfortunately it’s just not possible.

So next best thing, I pulled up a photograph of a beach on my PC, placed a chocolate Bounty bar in front of the monitor and started snapping….. didn’t really work out too well. You can’t tell it’s a beach, even when I adjusted the F-stop higher it still wasn’t working like I though it would. Oh well, at least I got to blissfully eat the Bounty….

Death by chocolate

Uh-oh…. Walgreens have brought in their Christmas chocolate boxes already. Last year I discovered that their no-name-brand box of chocolates tastes EXACTLY like Thorntons Classic Collection (Thorntons is a UK chocolate manufacturer American friends) This is a B-I-G mistake. There’s still 7 weeks to go till Christmas, not to mention after Christmas when they sell them off cheap! (Last year I didn’t discover them till afterwards, but I still managed to buy 5 boxes!)  I’m going to have to restrict myself to one box a week from now till they’re gone. Why can’t America make good chocolate? (Coz it’s all Hershey, even Cadbury – I’m answering my own question here!) Anyway good friends, go buy them and save me from eating them all myself and death by chocolate….

Yes, there are 4 missing. Yes, twas I!
